The Lusca of the Blue Holes

The blue holes of Andros Island, Bahamas, are deep underwater caves connected to the ocean by submerged tunnels. Local legend says something monstrous lives in their depths: the Lusca, a creature that drags the unwary to watery graves.

Witnesses describe the Lusca as part octopus and part shark, or sometimes as a giant squid with multiple heads. Estimates of its size range from 75 to over 200 feet in length. Its tentacles are said to be strong enough to pull boats underwater.
