The most dangerous water horse. Unlike the Kelpie, the Each-Uisge drags victims into the deepest lochs. Its skin becomes adhesive—once you touch it, you cannot escape. It devours all but the liver.

The Each-Uisge (pronounced “ech-ooshkya”) is a supernatural water horse from Scottish folklore, far more dangerous than its cousin the Kelpie.
The Legend
According to documented folklore:
The Each-Uisge:
- Inhabits sea lochs and the sea
- More dangerous than Kelpies
- Its skin becomes adhesive
- Victims cannot escape once mounted
- Devours all except the liver
Appearance
The Each-Uisge appears as:
- A beautiful horse
- Near water’s edge
- Sometimes as a handsome man
- Or a giant bird
- Its true form is monstrous
The Trap
How it catches victims:
- Appears as a fine horse
- Tempts travelers to ride
- Once mounted, skin sticks
- Plunges into the loch
- Drags victim to depths
The Devouring
The Each-Uisge:
- Takes victims underwater
- Tears them apart
- Eats everything
- Except the liver
- Which floats to shore
Protection
To escape:
- Never touch a strange horse near water
- If stuck, cut away the skin touching you
- Salt may repel it
- Iron may ward it off
- Best to simply avoid
