Chillingham Castle

The Blue Boy

The most famous ghost is the Blue Boy, who appears at midnight in the Pink Room. A blue halo of light forms near the old fireplace, and the figure of a young boy materializes. Lady Mary Berkeley’s ghost searches the castle for her husband, Lord Grey, who abandoned her for her sister. Her rustling skirts are heard in the corridors.

A ghostly funeral procession has been seen crossing the grounds, complete with pallbearers, mourners, and a horse-drawn hearse.
