The Edinburgh Vaults

The Edinburgh Vaults are chambers within South Bridge’s arches. Originally workshops, they became slums before being sealed and forgotten. Rediscovered in the 1980s, they are one of Scotland’s most haunted locations.

Spirits include “Mr. Boots,” a malevolent presence; a young boy named Jack; and a murdered woman in period dress. Visitors report cold spots, being touched, hearing voices, and feeling overwhelming emotions.
