The Haunting of the Lamb Inn

The Lamb Inn in Eastbourne’s Old Town claims to be one of England’s oldest pubs, with origins dating to around 1180. Over eight centuries, the ancient building has accumulated numerous ghost stories and continues to generate supernatural reports.

The Monk

A figure in monk’s robes has been seen in the inn, particularly in the cellar area. The medieval period when the inn was established saw considerable monastic activity in the area. This hooded figure may be connected to that era.

The Victorian Barmaid

A young woman in Victorian dress has been seen in the bar area. She appears to be working, moving behind the bar or between tables. When staff attempt to speak to her, she vanishes. Her sorrowful expression suggests an unhappy history.

The Cellar

The ancient cellars beneath the Lamb generate the most intense reports of supernatural activity. Staff descending alone have heard voices, felt presences, and seen shadows moving. Some refuse to enter the cellar without company.

The Regular

A figure in period clothing has been seen sitting in a corner of the bar after closing time. He appears to be a former regular who cannot bear to leave his favorite pub. He vanishes if anyone approaches.
