The Antonio Villas Boas Abduction
A Brazilian farmer claimed he was abducted by aliens and had an intimate encounter aboard their craft.
The Antonio Villas Boas Abduction
On October 16, 1957, Brazilian farmer Antonio Villas Boas claimed to have been abducted by humanoid beings from a spacecraft. His account was one of the first detailed abduction reports and included claims of an intimate encounter with a female alien.
The Abduction
Villas Boas was working in his fields at night when a bright craft landed. Humanoid beings in spacesuits seized him and brought him aboard. He was stripped, covered with a gel, and had blood samples taken.
The Encounter
According to Villas Boas, a naked female humanoid with red hair and blue eyes was brought to him. After their encounter, she pointed to her belly and then to the sky, suggesting she would bear his child. He was then returned to his field.
The Investigation
Dr. Olavo Fontes examined Villas Boas and found symptoms consistent with radiation exposure: nausea, skin lesions, and weakness. Villas Boas passed multiple interviews and maintained his story consistently throughout his life.
The Context
The case occurred before abduction accounts became common in UFO literature. Villas Boas told his story without knowledge of similar reports. He was a simple farmer with no apparent motive for fabrication.
Assessment
The Villas Boas case set patterns that would recur in later abduction accounts: medical examination, time loss, and physical after-effects. Whether true or delusion, it established elements of abduction lore before such stories were widespread.
