The Bentwaters-Woodbridge UFO Incident
US military personnel encountered a UFO in a British forest, leaving physical evidence.
The Bentwaters-Woodbridge UFO Incident
In late December 1980, U.S. Air Force personnel at the twin NATO bases of Bentwaters and Woodbridge witnessed UFO activity over three nights. The incident, also known as the Rendlesham Forest Incident, is considered Britain’s most significant military UFO case.
Night One
On December 26, security patrols saw strange lights in Rendlesham Forest. Three personnel investigated and encountered a metallic, triangular craft with colored lights. Sergeant Penniston touched the craft and copied symbols from its surface.
Night Two
The following night, Deputy Base Commander Lieutenant Colonel Charles Halt led a team into the forest to investigate. They found landing marks and elevated radiation readings. In the forest, they observed a bright object that seemed to drip molten metal.
Night Three
Halt and others observed multiple UFOs, including a red object that split into five separate lights that moved in various directions. A beam of light struck the ground near the party. The witnesses were experienced military personnel.
The Evidence
Halt filed an official report. Physical evidence included landing gear impressions, broken branches, and radiation readings three times normal background. An audio recording of Halt’s investigation exists.
Assessment
The Bentwaters-Woodbridge case involves multiple credible military witnesses over three nights, official documentation, and physical evidence. It remains one of the most compelling military UFO encounters ever recorded.
