The Boyle UFO Incident

In January 1991, multiple witnesses near the town of Boyle in County Roscommon, Ireland, observed a large, illuminated object on the ground. The sighting, which lasted several minutes, remains unexplained.

The Location

Boyle is a small town in County Roscommon in the west of Ireland. The area is rural and sparsely populated, with limited light pollution providing excellent conditions for observing unusual aerial phenomena.

The Sighting

On a cold January night, witnesses driving near Boyle observed a large, glowing object in a field beside the road. The object was estimated at approximately 40 feet in diameter and illuminated the surrounding area.

The Description

The object was described as disc or oval-shaped, with a dome and numerous lights. It hovered slightly above the ground. No sound was heard. The witnesses stopped their vehicle to observe.

The Departure

After approximately five minutes, the object rose slowly, then accelerated at tremendous speed, disappearing in seconds. The witnesses reported their experience to local authorities.

The Investigation

The sighting was investigated by Irish UFO researchers. The witnesses were considered credible. No conventional explanation was found. The case remains in the unexplained category.
