The Huffman Diamond UFO

The Cash-Landrum incident is unique in UFO history for the severe physical injuries suffered by its witnesses. Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum, and Colby Landrum encountered a diamond-shaped craft that left them with symptoms consistent with radiation exposure.

The Encounter

On the night of December 29, 1980, the three witnesses were driving home from dinner on a rural road near Huffman, Texas. They encountered a brilliant light ahead. As they approached, they saw a massive diamond-shaped metallic object hovering over the road, periodically emitting flames downward.

The Craft

The object was described as diamond-shaped with a flat bottom from which flames periodically erupted. It emitted intense heat. Betty Cash stepped out of the car for a closer look. The car’s dashboard became too hot to touch. The craft was accompanied by an estimated twenty-three military helicopters.

The Injuries

Betty Cash, who had the most exposure, developed severe symptoms within hours. Blisters covered her body. Her hair fell out. Her eyes swelled shut. She was hospitalized for weeks and never fully recovered. Vickie and Colby suffered lesser but significant symptoms.

The Medical Evidence

Physicians documented injuries consistent with ionizing radiation exposure. The pattern and progression of symptoms matched known radiation injury cases. This medical evidence remains the strongest physical proof in any UFO encounter.

The Lawsuit

The witnesses sued the U.S. government, believing the object was a secret military craft. Despite the helicopter presence, the government denied any involvement. The case was dismissed, and the craft’s origin was never officially explained.

Assessment

The Cash-Landrum case is distinguished by its medical documentation of real, lasting physical harm. Whatever the witnesses encountered caused injuries that persisted for years. Betty Cash died in 1998, maintaining until the end that her health had been destroyed that night.
