The O’Hare Airport UFO

On November 7, 2006, multiple United Airlines employees observed a metallic disc-shaped object hovering over Gate C17 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The object then shot upward, leaving a perfect circular hole in the clouds.

The Sighting

At approximately 4:15 PM, United Airlines personnel noticed a dark gray, metallic disc hovering approximately 1,900 feet above Gate C17 at Terminal C. The object was solid and completely silent.

The Witnesses

Twelve United Airlines employees, including pilots and mechanics, observed the object. All were experienced aviation professionals familiar with aircraft, weather phenomena, and atmospheric conditions. They agreed the object was unlike anything they had seen.

The Departure

After hovering for several minutes, the object shot straight up at high speed. As it passed through the overcast cloud layer, it left a perfectly circular hole in the clouds. This hole was visible for several minutes before closing.

The Cover-Up

Initially, the FAA denied any reports had been filed. After a Freedom of Information request by the Chicago Tribune, the FAA acknowledged reports but attributed the sighting to a weather phenomenon without investigation.

The Aviation Impact

The sighting occurred at one of the world’s busiest airports during the height of aviation activity. The object hovered over an active gate. Pilots and ground crew had clear, sustained views.

Assessment

The O’Hare sighting is significant for its location, witness credibility, and the physical effect on clouds. Aviation professionals do not casually report UFOs, risking their careers. Their willingness to speak suggests genuine conviction about what they saw.
