The Edwards Air Force Base UFO Incident

On October 7, 1965, personnel at Edwards Air Force Base in California tracked and photographed an unidentified object. The famous test facility, where test pilots routinely push the boundaries of aviation, was visited by something that exceeded all known aircraft capabilities.

The Detection

At 8:25 AM, radar operators detected an unknown object at high altitude. It was tracked for several minutes, showing characteristics unlike any known aircraft. Its speed and maneuverability exceeded anything in the military inventory.

The Photograph

A weather plane was directed to investigate. The crew observed and photographed the object before it accelerated away at incredible speed. The photographs showed a disc-shaped object against the morning sky.

The Witnesses

Multiple base personnel observed the object, including experienced test pilots and engineers who worked daily with cutting-edge aircraft. Their expertise made them difficult to dismiss as mistaken observers.

The Analysis

Project Blue Book investigated but never provided a satisfactory explanation. The photographs and radar data were classified. Decades later, the case remains unexplained.

Assessment

The Edwards AFB incident occurred at one of the most sophisticated aviation facilities in the world. The witnesses were among the best qualified to observe and evaluate aircraft. What they saw exceeded anything known to be flying at the time.
