The Malmstrom AFB UFO Incident
A UFO hovering over a nuclear missile base allegedly disabled ten nuclear missiles simultaneously.
The Malmstrom AFB UFO Incident
In March 1967, a UFO reportedly hovered over a launch control facility at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana. While the object was present, ten nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) in widely separated silos went offline simultaneously, an event that should have been impossible.
The Sighting
Security personnel at the base reported a glowing red object hovering over the front gate. They alerted the underground command capsule. Shortly after, the missiles under that capsule’s control, ten Minuteman ICBMs, went to “no-go” status simultaneously.
The Impossibility
These ten missiles were spread across miles of Montana countryside. For all ten to go offline at the same moment due to technical failure was statistically virtually impossible. Boeing engineers who investigated could find no explanation.
The Classification
The incident was classified for decades. Witnesses were told not to discuss what happened. It was only through persistent research that the case became public knowledge.
Similar Incidents
Other incidents at nuclear facilities around the world have been reported, with UFOs apparently demonstrating interest in nuclear weapons. Whether surveillance or warning, the pattern is consistent.
Assessment
The Malmstrom incident raises profound questions about the interest of unknown craft in nuclear weapons and their ability to interfere with the most sensitive military technology.
