The Tehran UFO Chase
Iranian jets pursued a UFO that disabled their weapons systems.
The Tehran UFO Chase
On September 19, 1976, the Imperial Iranian Air Force scrambled F-4 Phantom jets to intercept a brilliant UFO over Tehran. The object evaded pursuit and demonstrated the ability to disable the jets’ weapons and electronics.
The Alert
At 12:30 AM, residents began calling about a bright object in the sky. The object was also detected on radar. Two F-4 Phantoms were scrambled to investigate.
The First Intercept
The first F-4 experienced complete instrumentation and radio failure as it approached the object. When the pilot broke off, all systems returned to normal.
The Second Intercept
The second F-4 achieved radar lock. As the pilot prepared to fire an AIM-9 missile, his weapons panel went dead. A smaller object detached from the main UFO and headed directly at him.
The Aftermath
The incident was documented in a Defense Intelligence Agency report that classified it as a “classic case.” The objects displayed technologies beyond any known to exist.
Assessment
The Tehran incident demonstrates UFO capability to selectively disable military weapons systems. The official DIA documentation adds credibility. Whatever was over Tehran that night was not of known origin.
